A condo can't afford central a/c. What is the easy way to hook up a portable air conditioner? Esp if the Condo association does not allow any window units of any kind.

A portable unit, preferably 8000 btu or bigger will work. Installation is simple. They come with a kit. Hot air goes through about a gap at the bottom of the window. Make sure that the unit you get has a holding tank and a way to drain the moisture run-off.

A self evaporating unit works great, so you didn't have to worry about draining anything...

Watch out for the noise level, and be sure that the dB noise rating is quiet enough that you can enjoy the cooling without using ear plugs to shut out the sound racket. |
